I’m Luisa, a conceptual photographer based in Charlotte, NC.
I create simple, timeless scenes using handmade elements and film. I work mostly from my home studio, where I build things by hand… working with fabrics, paper, paint, whatever I have around, letting it come together naturally.
My work brings value back to working with hands, to simplicity, and to slow processes. I work in an intuitive way, and I use film to capture each image as it is, the texture, the grain, even the small imperfections.
I’m drawn to soft tones, quiet compositions, and subtle details. Everything tends to come together slowly, piece by piece, more by feeling than by plan.
My work is for people who want to surround themselves with pieces that feel meaningful and show what went into them.
A few things I’m grateful for:
- Awarded Sony Alpha Female Plus Grant for my Transformative Self-Portrait project.
- Finalist in the Microsoft Surface Original by Design Contest, recognized for innovation and creativity in visual storytelling.
- Earned a certification in lighting and posing under Sandra Coan, a leading expert in the photography industry.
