Not sure what to wear for your headshots? You’re not alone — it’s the question I get most. But don’t worry, I’ll help you keep it easy and relaxed.

If you’re coming to my studio—yay! Welcome, friend. I want to help you feel confident, comfortable, and like yourself from the moment we start.

My style is soft, neutral, and simple—and my photos are calm and timeless. I use soft light and neutral backdrops to keep things clean and elegant.

So, let me share these easy tips for your upcoming session:

1. Colors that look good on everyone

Neutrals are super flattering and never go out of style. They keep the vibe soft, cozy, and simple—which is exactly what we want. Think shades like:

  • Cream, ivory, or light taupe

  • Dusty pink, beige

  • Soft grey or warm stone

  • Off-white or gentle metallic tones

Try to skip bright colors, loud patterns, or logos—they can be a bit distracting and don’t really match the calm, clean look I go for.

I created this palette as a little visual inspiration for a personal shoot and thought you might enjoy it as well. Calm neutrals, a hint of warmth, and nothing too loud. Just timeless tones that let everything else breathe.

2. Soft, classic tops with simple necklines

When it comes to tops, keep it easy and comfy—but still cute. Soft, classic blouses or knits always look amazing in photos.

Necklines that work great:

  • Scoop necks, boat necks, or a soft v-neck

  • Simple blouses with a clean shape

  • Light sweaters or tops with a bit of texture

Nothing stiff or super “office-y” needed here—unless that’s the look you’re going for! Just go with something soft, timeless, and comfortable that feels like you.

Keep jewelry simple too. A little necklace or small earrings are perfect.

3. Feel free to bring a couple options

Bring 2–3 tops. We’ll try them together and see what works best with the light and backdrop. No stress—simple outfits always look amazing.

4. Light wash jeans are more than welcome

If you’ve got a favorite pair of light or medium wash jeans, bring them! That soft, washed-out blue looks so good with the neutral tones in the studio. It keeps the whole look chill, clean, and timeless. Dark or super bold jeans can feel a little too intense in this setup, but light denim just fits right in.

5. A quick example

The soft textures and neutral colors matched my backdrop perfectly.

  • A soft neckline: simple and timeless

  • A hint of metallic: elegant, but not too much

  • A light blazer and tiny necklace: cozy, but still professional

6. Oh—and Don’t Forget Your Hands!

I often guide my clients into poses where their hands gently rest near the face or body—it adds a soft, elegant touch. So before your session, give them a little love: moisturize, tidy up your nails, maybe go for a clean, simple manicure if you want. Natural is perfect, too!

Still Not Sure What to Wear?

No problem! Send me a quick message. I’m happy to help you pick something that feels natural, beautiful, and—most importantly—you.

Can’t wait to create something lovely together.
